What is vasectomy?

A vasectomy is a safe and straightforward operation for permanent sterilisation/contraception in men.

About the procedure.

Dr Jacques Marchand MBChB, has been performing vasectomies for 30+ years, using the non-scalpel technique.

The non-scalpel technique uses a dissecting forcep to stretch open a hole in the skin (as the skin is stretched there usually is no bleeding that occurs at the site and no stitches required at finish as closes together on its own). A diathermy is used to seal the tubes carrying sperm. The tubes are placed back in the sheath and opening of sheath also sealed to stop ends getting near each other (this stops the body doing what it loves to do and reconnect things).

What costs are involved?

The cost of vasectomy is $520.00. Our one price includes:

  • Pre-operative phone or face to face consultation

  • Procedure

  • Post-operative care

  • Laboratory sperm test - for NZ residents and eligible non NZ residents only

for everyone else additional laboratory fees apply.

  • Follow up of sperm test results
